馮配明先生，香港出生，祖籍廣東省台山市廣海鎮，曾就讀廣海小學，台山第一中學；中學畢業於香港聖保羅男書院，大學畢業於倫敦大學，獲榮譽文學士，後獲英國語文學院院士及哲學博士銜，曾任職教師，寫作、經營股票、金融、出版社 ......，是學者、作家、商人、發明家、暇時喜鑽研新事物，自小喜弈棋，因感各棋類有缺點，經多年研究，終發明大宇宙棋，並成為香港發明家協會會員，1997年新棋面世，並著大宇宙棋金典詳加解釋，1998年參與世界華人發明博覽會，2000年參與國際發明展覽會，均獲銅獎殊榮。1998年獲中華人民共和國頒予專利權，同年於香港註冊成立大宇宙棋總會，志在徵求及團結志士仁人，推廣棋藝，使香港成為世界棋藝中心，領導全球，舉辦世界賽，促進全球藝術文化交流，造福世人。

Mr. Yemen Fung Pui Ming, born in Hong Kong (ancestors' native place : Kwong Hoi Town, Toi Shan City, Kwong Tung Province), educated in Kwong Hoi Primary School, Toi Shan First Middle School, graduated from St. Paul's Boys' College (Hong Kong) and London University, obtained Degrees of B.A. (Hons), MIL, Ph D; serve(d) mainly as teacher, stock and finance consultant, merchant, writer, publisher, scholar, inventor ....... , fond of playing chesses since boyhood; discontented with other chesses, researched for many years to invent Great Cosmic Chess in 1997, wrote and published Great Cosmic Chess Golden Book to explain it and admitted as a member of Hong Kong Inventors Association; obtained Bronze Medal in(i) Chinese International Invention Expo 1998 & (ii) International Invention Expo 2000; granted patent right by the Patent Office of the People's Republic of China in 1998; founded Great Cosmic Chess Union Headquarters in Hong Kong in 1998 to invite and unite people of art talents to promote chess arts so as to establish Hong Kong as the WORLD CENTRE OF CHESS ARTS to progress the exchange of arts and cultures to benefit the world.
